HARRIERS EVENT HELD ON THURSDAY 4th APRIL
The Harriers rounded out a magnificent summer season on Thursday 4th April with the 5km Rose Rumble, in the streets south of the railway line.
Helen Whitby was first home on handicap for the second week in a row, and Ann Bomers pulled out all stops to come in second, with Peter Grixti third on handicap.
Biasi Silvestro and Ian Cornthwaite were the fastest on the night, and impressively, youngster Miles Verschuur came in third only three seconds from a sub 20 minute result.
For the females, Karen Graham, completed the course with her usual speedy style, finishing in 22 and a half minutes. Liz Kenney was second fastest female and Kaye Livingstone ran well to round out the three.
This week also saw a number of Traralgon Harriers and local Parkrun regulars among the 22,000 participants who ran the iconic R4Tkids fun run last Sunday (7th April) from Melbourne’s Docklands and return over the Bolte Bridge, raising funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital. Stephen McLeod has run all fourteen, while Eudora Walker said she was reasonably pleased with her time, but “I was enjoying the scenery too much – it was a beautiful morning for it”.
