TRARALGON HARRIERS THURSDAY RUN – 2ND FEBRUARY 2017 COCHRANE’S ROAD 5KM REPORT –
The weekly Harriers Thursday run was run and won last Thursday night at the Cochrane’s Road 5km course. With the weather on the positive and summer daylight still on our sides, 40 eager runners set off on the 5km course and 7 runners for the 3km course. The courses included both a nice and steep ‘test’ hill within the first 800m and a few other undulations throughout the course as it weaved its way through the bushes of Hazelwood North. The club welcomed new runners Teresa Dixon and Grant Hilton who both performed very well on their first outing with the club, with times of 28:09 and 38:42 respectively. First three home on handicap was the ever-improving Susan Poole 30:42, ParkRun star Marieka Reilly 30:43 and the consistent Warren Shields 24:38 who continues to improve with each run. First runner home this week was Ian Cornthwaite in 20.50, followed by super fit Glenn Graham 21.27, and Rob Preston in 22.29. Fastest of the ladies was Georgia Pearson in 23.52, not far behind her was Karen Graham in 24.27 and then Simone Forbes in 25.17. Next week’s run is the Railway Reserve 6km course, which starts at the Traralgon Railway Reserve on Hickox Street, Traralgon. Handicaps start at 6pm, but please arrive at 5:50pm to check-in and register.
