Traralgon Harriers Xmas Run 17.12.2015
Christmas was in the air at the Traralgon Harriers last run of the year. Runners dressed up in their festive attire, some special mentions go to Karen Graham, Edi Murat and Pete Sanders for stepping it up a notch.
Andrew Legge and his merry helpers put together a great mystery run, where groups of 4 had to navigate their way around some of Traralgon and participate in activities along the way. It was a hot night but the refreshments at each station made the journey between each worth the wait. The run was to be about 6 km depending on the route each group took. It was noted that one group not the slowest but definitely taking the longest route added on a few extra kms searching for the house on Graduate Place.
The activities the runners participated in were bobbing for apples, ten pin bowling, hitting table tennis balls into a basket and blind folding a group member with a santa hat and navigating them back to the clubrooms. Gary Fox thought it would be fun to run back blindfolded but realised this was not the best move when he nearly came unstuck running into a gutter without realising.
The first team, Tyler, Warren, Biasi and Peter came home in 26 minutes with most groups returning in 35 – 45 minutes. Everyone enjoyed the mystery run but were pretty relieved to be out of the heat and back at the clubrooms for some food, drinks and relaxing with friends.
To finish off the night Harriers had a Xmas raffle where members won prizes including vouchers from Latrobe Valley Physiotherapy and plenty of socks. Looking forward to all the great runs planned for Traralgon Harriers in 2016
