Breed Street Netball Courts/Agnes Brereton Park 5km
This week’s Thursday night run was scheduled for the Breed Street/ Agnes Brereton Park 5km course starting near the netball courts just off Breed Street, Traralgon. The course was slightly altered from previous years, but made it all so much better with a 400m distance increase, making the run a 5.4km course in total.
The fresh, crisp weather was slightly on the positive side for our winter run season and attracted 36 runners, including the welcoming of one new runner, Renee Aghan, who completed the 3.5km course in a time of 23:41, respectively.
The run made its way through parts of the Traralgon Park run course out the back of Bradman Boulevard, before a slight incline up Balmoral Place, down St Georges Road, before completing a square shaped lap, and then back the same way we came.
The first three runners home on handicap this week were Kayla Gallert who finished the course in a time of 23:01; Kris Vallak was next in 24:46 and Cassie Matthews who finished in 33:48.
In the separate male and female categories this week, talented runner Bryan Cake took line honours for the men in a speedy time of 21:19, he was followed closely by another talent of the club, Glenn Graham, who finished in another speedy time of 21:35, and third for the males belonged to yet again, another club-talent, Steve McLeod who finished in a time of 22:21, respectively.
In the female race, it was Molly Irvine who took line honours in a time of 21:56, second to her was Kayla Gallert in 23:01, and third for the females this week was Karen Graham, just a mere 4 seconds behind in 23:05.
