TRARALGON HARRIERS RACE REPORT- 25 FEBRUARY 2016
Cochrane’s Road 5km
The weekly Harriers Thursday run was run and won last Thursday night at the Cochrane’s Road 5km course. With the weather on the upside and daylight still just on our side, 44 eager runners set off on the course which included a few undulations, not to mention the one that hits you right at the very start of the course and continues for a good 800 metres or so.
The club welcomed new runner Keita Matsumoto who performed very well on his first outing with the club, with a time of 23:07 respectively and finishing first place on handicap. Second to finish on handicap was Annette Anderson 33:32 and third place belonged to Anna Cardillo 26:04. It is great to see these faces making an appearance on Thursday night runs again and proves that life does get in the way sometimes but it won’t stop you from enjoying the things that you love!
First runner home on non-handicap this week was young-gun Riley Evans in a speedy time of 19:05, he was followed by super fit Ian Cornthwaite in 20:08, and another young-gun, Colby Morley in 20:25.
Fastest of the ladies was Karen Graham in 23:21, not far behind her was Hillary Meyer in 23:41 and Simone Forbes in 24:15, also not far behind.
Next week’s run is the Edward Hunter Reserve 5km course, which starts at Edward Hunter Reserve located on Coalville Road, Moe. The run begins at 6pm but please arrive at 5.45pm to sign in with our volunteers. The Harriers welcomes all runners of all abilities and further details about the club can be found on our website www.traralgonharriers.org.au
